Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced a Comprehensive Relief Package to those affected by Floods in Vijayawada. The government has extended financial help to the families that were affected, the businesses that got disrupted, the farmers who lost their crops, and even the vehicles that got damaged.

In the most affected areas of Vijayawada, the Government will be paying 25,000 Rupees to the families living on the Ground Floor and 10,000 Rupees to the families living in the First Floor. In the remaining affected areas, 10,000 Rupees will be paid for families living on the Ground Floor.

From day 1, Chandrababu Naidu has been up to nature’s challenge in every possible way. For ten days, he stayed in Vijayawada Collectorate in a Bus and worked round the clock. We have seen him tour the affected area post-midnight and even in the early hours.

In the areas where cars can not go, Naidu used JCBs and spoke to the affected people to give them confidence that the Government is working for them.

The government arranged food packets and groceries for the impacted families using government machinery and drones.

People in the low-lying areas were evacuated. Vegetables were sold at heavily subsidized rates. Seeing the best efforts of the Government, people from other districts also responded and sent food packets to Vijayawada. The Government also put special efforts in sanitation to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases.

And then, after the water receded, we saw the Government engage Firetenders to clean the houses (for free) and mechanics to repair the damaged home appliances and vehicles at reasonable prices.

From the rescue measures to the temporary relief works (like food and grocery distribution) to financial assistance, this is a perfect case study of Crisis Management. No wonder Naidu is considered the best in the country on this front.
