Actor Gaurav Khanna, who was celebrated for his role as Anuj in Anupamaa, has won the title of Celebrity Masterchef. Gaurav took home the trophy, Rs 20 lakhs prize money, and wore the chef’s coat after being announced as the winner of the first season of Celebrity MasterChef. Nikki Tamboli bagged the second spot, while Tejasswi Prakash came third. Mr Faisu and Rajiv Adatia were also among the finalists but failed to make it to top 3. On the grand finale, other than the judges – chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna, and director Farah Khan — chef Sanjeev Kapoor was also the special guest. Tejasswi’s boyfriend Karan Kundrra was also seen on Celebrity MasterChef’s grand finale.
Gaurav Khanna’s journey on the show has been quite a roller-coaster ride. In the very first episode, his dish was declared as inedible by Farah Khan. Over the ten weeks, the actor also gained popularity for his innovative ideas when it came to cooking dishes.

While he impressed judges week after week, Gaurav Khanna wasn’t liked much by the show’s runner-up, Nikki Tamboli. Nikki and Gaurav were always at loggerheads on the show. Another highlight for Gaurav on the show was that he never let his color-blindness come in the way of excelling in the MasterChef kitchen.
However, in the final week, Gaurav Khanna did stir up controversy after he was accused of copying a Swiss chef’s dessert. While Gaurav recreating the dish was not a problem, he was slammed for calling the idea his innovation. On the show, Gaurav won numerous spoon taps from Ranveer Brar, and he even won the exclusive knife from the chef during the finale week. Other than that, chef Vikas Khanna also praised Gaurav for his immense growth on the show.

Gaurav is yet to announce his next project. The actor is rumored to be participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.
