CBN Govt Took 15 Acres from Jagan’s Rajaguru Swami Swarupanandendra

The YSRCP government had previously allocated 15 acres of government land to the Sri Sarada Peetham in Visakhapatnam at an extremely low price of ₹1 lakh per acre, despite the skyrocketing land prices in the region, especially with the proximity to Bhogapuram Airport and Visakhapatnam’s growing real estate demand.

This allocation, involving land worth ₹220 crores, was sold for a mere ₹15 lakhs, which led to concerns over the significant loss of revenue to the state government. Sri Sarada Peetham, led by Swami Swarupanandendra Saraswati, holds significant influence, particularly with former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, who had a strong rapport with the spiritual leader.

The land was allocated under YSRCP’s tenure, raising questions about the preferential treatment given in this transaction. However, the situation changed when the TDP alliance government, after coming to power, took a different stance. In a key decision, CM Chandrababu Naidu’s government issued orders to cancel the land permission previously granted to Visakha Sharada Peetham.

The TDP government deemed the transaction as a violation of rules, contributing to a financial loss to the government. Additionally, the TDP government also instructed the TTD to take action against the construction of the Sharada Peetham structures near Tirumala Srivari Sannidhi, which were reportedly built against existing regulations.

This move reflects the new administration’s intent to correct what they perceive as irregularities in land allocations and protect the interests of the government treasury. Official orders confirming these actions are expected to be issued soon, with formal announcements likely to come on Monday.

This decision is part of a broader push by the new government to review and reverse certain controversial policies and decisions taken during the YSRCP tenure.
