Can These Telangana Ministers Save Congress?

The Election Commission has today announced the schedule of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Elections. While Maharashtra will have a single-phase polling on November 20, Jharkhand will have it in two phases on November 13 and November 20. The results will be declared on November 23.

Congress, which had a shocking defeat in the recently held Haryana elections, is aiming to make a strong comeback in these elections. But defeating BJP and its allies is not an easy task.

Almost all exit polls predicted Congress’s landslide victory in Haryana but BJP came into power with good dominance and formed the government for the third consecutive time.

It looks like the All India Congress Committee doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes it committed in Haryana. Thus, it has appointed prominent leaders as senior observers for the upcoming elections in Jharkhand and Maharastra.

Three Telangana cabinet ministers, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Dasari Anasuya aka Seethakka, were included in this list.

Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Tariq Anwar and Adhir Ranjan Chowdary, will monitor Congress’s electoral campaign in Jharkhand. On the other side, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Sachi Pilot will monitor the campaign in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra.

Seethakka, along with Syed Naseer Hussain, will oversee the campaign proceedings in North Maharashtra.

Congress announced this list hours before the announcement of the election schedule. It looks like the party’s high command is confident in Telangana ministers’ prowess in getting votes. So, it has to be seen if these three ministers save Congress and prevent another defeat in the assembly elections.
