Salman Khan’s recent choice of directors has been nothing short of disastrous. Once hailed as the king of commercial cinema, Salman’s trend of hiring outdated directors in recent years has led to a string of epic flops.
Prabhu Deva and Farhad Samji – both of whom were given opportunities by Salman in Radhe and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan despite their track records being riddled with mediocrity.

The latest example is Salman Khan’s collaboration with A.R. Murugadoss on Sikandar. Despite high hopes pinned on a South Indian director, the film has turned into a massive disaster, failing both critically and commercially.
And now, there are reports that Salman has decided to trust Harish Shankar whose last film, Mr. Bachchan, was a flop at the box office.

Fans question Why is Salman going down this route? Why is not taking risks with directors who can deliver cinema that connects with today’s audience.
However, dismissing Harish Shankar outright might be premature. He was the man behind Gabbar Singh that became a roaring blockbuster for Pawan Kalyan. The film revived Pawan Kalyan’s career at a time when he was struggling with flops.

Harish Shankar also gave Varun Tej his biggest hit with Gaddalakonda Ganesh. He delivered Allu Arjun his first 100-crore film with DJ.
If he can crack a solid script packed with mass-appealing moments, he might just do for Salman what he did for Pawan Kalyan. Revitalizing Salman’s box office dominance is not impossible. Fans shouldn’t underestimate Harish Shankar’s potential just yet.
