Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj is one of the eagerly awaited films this Sankranti, set to release on January 12. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film promises an action-packed adventure, with the trailer giving fans a glimpse of NBK in a powerful new avatar.
The trailer begins with a child narrating a story, setting up Daaku Maharaaj as a protector of the innocent. NBK makes a dramatic entrance, and the film shifts between his role as a protector and a mysterious character named Nanaji.

Despite the trailer receiving positive reactions, the film’s latest song, Dabidi Dibidi, has faced criticism online due to its controversial choreography, leading to some trolling from netizens.
It’s been more than a decade since Bobby made his debut as a director with the film Power. The film turned out to be a decent hit despite nothing great. His second film, Sardar Gabbar Singh, was an outright disaster.

He then came up with Jai Lava Kusa and Venky Mama, both of which suffered from lackluster direction and outdated storylines.
His last film, Waltair Veerayya, was also heavily criticized for being cringe, though it turned out to be a big hit due to Chiranjeevi’s stardom and the festival season.
So, Bobby, till now, hasn’t delivered a completely satisfying film, all of them being half-baked. Despite some box office success, his films haven’t stood the test of time or become memorable.
Daaku Maharaaj appears to be his best effort in terms of storytelling, visuals, and execution. Let’s hope that this will be the film that will elevate Bobby to the ranks of star directors.
