The three movies released this year were big disasters. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ had tickets for 99 rupees only on the first day of release but collected 2.25 crore that day. Then it went on to make 3 crore on the first Saturday as ticket prices had gone up to normal. The two-day collection of the film was Rs 5.25 crore.
Aaman Devgn and Rasha Thadani’s debut film ‘Azaad’ earned Rs 1.25-1.50 crore on day 2, which was no better than the day 1 collection. The period drama has Ajay Devgn in an extended cameo and made a disastrous collection of Rs 2.75 crore in two days.

There was not much anticipation for Shankar and Ram Charan’s ‘Game Changer’ but the numbers are extremely disappointing. The movie recorded Rs 35 lakh on second Saturday in Hindi markets.
It is one of the worst opening years for the film business and the only hope for the industry is Akshay Kumar’s upcoming aviation drama ‘Sky Force’. But there is still not much hype for the movie.

If Akshay Kumar manages to pull this off and Sky Force becomes a decent success, it will be a great comeback from the actor as well.
The movies like Azaad and Emergency needed at least 50 crores to make a decent box office number but looks like they are not to go beyond 10 crores. And Akshay’s Sky Force seems to be the only hope right now.
