Salman Khan hasn’t had a good release over the years and has been dealing with successive box office failures. Despite having a good and strong fanbase, Salman has been unable to pull any attraction to the box office given his immaculate stardom and popularity.
As he prepares to blast this Eid with a bang in his upcoming film Sikandar, it is interesting to note that Eid has always been a Salman Khan’s affair. With successive hits for the superstar releasing on Eid, his luck hasn’t been with him on Eid either for the last 9 years.

With his blockbuster film, Sultan released on Eid 2016, Salman hasn’t seen success at Eid since then and has been celebrating an Eid full of disasters. His films Bharat, Race 3, and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan were also box office failures and were released on Eid.
Other than that, Salman’s recent filmography has been underwhelming as well with releases like Antim, Radhe, and Dabangg 3. Tiger Zinda Hai being his last successful film, Salman desperately needs a huge comeback this Eid with Sikandar.

On paper, the film looks promising as Rashmika Mandanna might attract a lot of viewers given her regional fanbase. Rashmika has been giving several hits and has been on a roll when it comes to giving hits.
As for the director AR Murugadoss, he has been a part of several good films including Ghajini, and Holiday, but has been underwhelming with his most recent projects like Darbar, Sarkar, and Spyder. It remains to be seen how Salman’s upcoming venture proves out to be this Eid.

Given the current situation, Sikandar might be a crucial release for Salman as if it does not turn out to be a box office success, Salman might not be able to recover for several years as his next projects are lined up after two or three years.
To remain relevant in the industry, Sikandar has to work for Salman Khan generating his box office comeback before it is too late.
