The recent Lagacherla violence in CM Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal constituency caused a huge stir in Telangana politics. Villagers of Lagicherla allegedly attacked the Vikarabad collector and other government officials when they visited the village to examine lands for the allocation of Pharma City.
In the following days, the police arrested various accused individuals, including Kodangal former MLA, Patnam Narender Reddy. It was also rumoured that KTR would also be arrested in connection with this case but that didn’t happen.

Meanwhile, BRS has been accusing the Congress government and the police department of arresting innocent farmers who fought for their lands. Yesterday, BRS leaders took families of villagers who were arrested to the Telangana State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and filed a complaint against the police department and the government.
This morning, they also went to Delhi to complain to the National SC/ST Commission and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

Going by the current circumstances, people feel BRS leaders are taking this issue to the national level as the attack happened in CM’s constituency.
On the other side, CM Revanth has been silent on these developments over the last few days. He is busy campaigning for the Congress party and its alliances in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, Congress supporters are urging Revanth Reddy to visit the Lagacherla village and sort the issue for once before BRS take advantage of it and dent Revanth’s reputation in the constituency. Notably, BRS managed to defeat Revanth in Kodangal in the 2018 elections. So, people feel that he cannot be taken lightly. Thus, it has to be seen if Revanth breaks his silence and respond to the ongoing issue.
