BRS took the matter seriously and took legal action against RTV for spreading fake news. Time and again, BRS leaders have been refuting rumours of merging into BJP.

As RTV broadcasted the report in a big way, BRS filed a defamation case against it. In its notice, BRS stated that ever since the BJP came into power at the centre in 2014, it has been constantly neglecting the interests and welfare of the people of Telangana.
