    BRS Leaders Under House Arrest

    Ahead of the BRS party meeting at the Medchal Malkajgiri district headquarters, police placed key leaders such as Harish Rao, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Jogu Ramanna under house arrest.

    Yesterday, BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy announced that party leaders would meet at the Medchal Malkajgiri headquarters and proceed in a rally to Sherilingampally MLA Arikapudi Gandhi’s residence.

    This morning, as BRS leaders prepared to attend the meeting, the police started the house arrests. Former Minister Harish Rao was house arrested at his Kokapet residence.

    Harish Rao tried to leave, saying that he sustained a shoulder injury during a protest the previous night and asked the police to let him go to the hospital. However, the police stopped his car and didn’t let him go.

    MLA Sunita Lakshma Reddy and former MP Baloth Kavitha were stopped by police when they tried to enter Harish Rao’s gated community. In protest against the police’s actions, they staged a protest at the community’s main gate. Eventually, they were arrested too.

    Former Ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and Jogu Ramanna were also placed under house arrest at their respective residences. Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao and Quthbullapur MLA Vivekananda were also put under house arrest.

    BRS leaders had planned to start their rally from Medchal district BRS president, Shambipur Raju’s residence. Thus, police put tight security there. Meanwhile, Padi Kaushik Reddy arrived at Shambipur Raju’s house and is planning to start the rally.

    Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed the police to take strict action against any BRS leaders who attempt to disrupt law and order. He accused the party of damaging Hyderabad’s reputation with these protests.
