In the March of last year, the Indian High Commission in London faced an attack from over 2000 pro-Khalistan supporters which led to multiple arrests from the UK Police. As most of the Indian nationals were in danger, the involvement from the Indian authorities was natural.
The UK authorities detained over 50 people after the incident. Moreover, earlier this year in April, the National Investigation Agency also made a key arrest of Inderpal Singh Gaba, a British citizen and a grocery store owner in the UK, for agitating the mob. The crowd was already outraged after the arrest of Amritpal Singh, the Waris Punjab De chief, and the involvement of people like Gaba only added fuel to the fire.

However, if you are aware of the legal proceedings they are long and lengthy processes. And after four months of the arrest, the probe agency has filed a chargesheet against Gaba who still falls under the jurisdiction of the UK.
The UK authorities have cooperated with the Indian agencies showing both countries’ joint efforts to fight against criminal and terrorist activities. The involvement of NIA also smooths the extradition process if India ever decides to charge Gaba or any other criminal in an Indian court. The grocery store owner now faces multiple charges including conspiracy, violence and aggression, and terrorism-related offence as the investigation is still ongoing.
