The newly-inaugurated Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express has been canceled for tomorrow, May 22 after a rake was damaged due to a thunderstorm, says Indian Railways, adding that it will require extensive repair.

Bijapur Police says two jawans of the (CoBRA) 202 batallion were injured during an exchange of fire between security personnel and Naxalites in Chhattisharh’s Bijapur district. Both the injured personnel have been admitted to district hospital. 

There is a possibility of 3-4 Naxalites being injured in the encounter, search operation underway, they say.

Jaipur Police Commissioner Anand Kumar Srivastava says, Ved Prakash Yadav, joint director of the Department of Information and Technology (DoIT) was detained on Saturday and handed over to the Anti Corruption Bureau. 

In the CCTV footage, he was seen using the almirah in the basement of the office. Yadav had bought the gold bullion found in the almirah from Ambabadi for about Rs 38 lakh during demonetisation in 2016. Whatever we found was handed over to ACB. Further investigation underway.

Third G20 Environment Working Group Meet In Mumbai Today: 

The G20’s third Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) meeting will be held in Mumbai from May 21 to 23, with a focus on aspects of the blue economy, officials announced on Saturday.

The meeting will begin with a beach clean-up event in Juhu, followed by the Ocean 20 Dialogue.

The Ocean 20 platform, which was launched during the Indonesia Presidency Dialogue, aims to advance ocean solution ideation and action.

The Indian Presidency is demonstrating active leadership by anchoring the Ocean 20 Dialogue in the 3rd ECSWG, which will focus on three significant pillars of the blue economy, according to a statement from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

Haryana’s Mega Khap Panchayat To Press For Wrestlers’ Demands Today: 

The Palam Khap expressed disappointment on Saturday over the disregard shown to the demands of the protesting wrestlers, who are calling for the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on sexual harassment charges, IANS reported.

Surendra Solanki, the leader of Palam Khap, announced on Sunday that a mega Khap Panchayat will be held in Meham, Haryana, to amplify the movement against the Central government’s ‘arbitrary’ actions. Leaders from various Khaps will unveil the blueprint for the movement’s future course at the panchayat.
