This weekend is promising to be a peculiar one for the Telugu audience as we have three completely different options, arriving in theatres.

While one is obviously the straight Telugu option of Thandel, we also have Telugu dubbed Tamil film Pattudala(Vidaamuyarchi in Tamil) and the re release of Interstellar.
In terms of advance bookings, Thandel is just getting started and the early trends are ordinary. In view of the fact that the film is releasing with nominal ticket prices, it has to be seen if it would gain any momentum for the next couple of days.

The film has good songs, a decent trailer, and the combination of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. It has a fair few things going its way, and it will need a positive word of mouth to generate the right positive push this weekend.
Tamil star Ajit Kumar is returning to the big screens with Pattudala. This film is somehow finding decent numbers in the Tamil market, but it is going to be a non-starter in the Telugu belt.

Whether or not, the film will post at least mention worthy numbers in the Telugu states will ultimately depend on the early reviews. There is literally zero anticipation in terms of advance bookings.
Then we have Interstellar which is re releasing after 10 long years. Though this film was expected to create madness in the Indian belt, things are not looking as such.
The bookings are partly decent. In Hyderabad, the bookings for the Prasads Large Screen are brilliant but in the PVR properties, it is exhibiting ordinary trends.
But what’s for certain is that Interstellar is going to be at least a mention worthy option for the urban audience this weekend. It might well generate decent revenues not just in the Telugu states but also across the country.
