Australian defender Alanna Kennedy has officially parted ways with Manchester City and great friend Mary Fowler to join the Angel City team in Los Angeles.
The transfer marks the end of Kennedy’s three-and-a-half year stint with the English club, where she made 64 appearances.
The 30-year-old star was a notable omission from the squad for the recent Manchester derby.
Kennedy took to social media to say farewell to the club, expressing gratitude for the friendships she had formed during her time there.
‘I am leaving with a lot of amazing memories,’ Kennedy wrote on Instagram.
‘I’ve had some real career highlights playing for this team and made some friends for life. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of those who supported me during my time here.

‘It has been a privilege to play alongside you all and I wish you all of the continued success for the rest of the season and beyond.’
Manchester City also confirmed the move, thanking the Aussie for her efforts and wishing her luck in the States.
Meanwhile, Fowler has been in great form for City, scoring two excellent goals in a loss to cross-town rivals United earlier this month.
She’ll be on international duty for the Matildas when they take part in the SheBelieves Cup in the US for the first time.
The Tillies tackle Japan on February 21, followed by the USA three days later and Colombia on the 27th.
Fowler also took to Instagram recently to upload a number of images she titled a ‘recap of 2024’.
They included images of her NRL superstar boyfriend Nathan Cleary as well as a series of promotional shots.
The sporting power couple recently spent time together on Hayman Island before continuing their long-distance relationship when she had to return to England.

Cleary is yet to return to pre-season training with the Panthers as he recovers from shoulder surgery.
‘It’s pretty much a three or four-month recovery, so it’s been good so far,’ he said.
‘I’m slowly ticking the boxes, and then it’ll start ramping up…’I’m a little bit ahead of schedule, which is cool.’
In October, Fowler and Cleary were spotted at Old Trafford watching Wigan Warriors beat Hull KR in the Super League Grand Final.
They were later seen exploring Manchester and several coastal towns in the UK before jetting out to Mallorca in Spain.
