Gulshan Devaiah who was recently seen in Ulajh, playing a significant role alongside Janhvi Kapoor remarked on the disastrous performance of the film, “Hit flop toh chalta rehta hai”. But this has not been the case with Bollywood films on the big screen for a while. The film business has hit rock-bottom! Currently, two majorly anticipated projects Ulajh and Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha have been released and both the films are struggling badly.
Sudhanshu Sarai’s spy thriller Ulajh and Neeraj Pandey’s romantic drama Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha both provide a diverse range to the cinema lovers but still they are choosing not to watch the films. What can be the reason behind it? Even prominent Jodi of actors like Tabu and Ajay Devgan are not able to pull audiences to the big screen. At this point theatre houses only wish that a blockbuster Bollywood movie comes to the screen and makes their business run amazingly again.

Although this has not been the case for international releases like Deadpool & Wolverine or films beyond North-India like Kalki 2898 AD which had impactful box office collections. Even OTT platforms are doing better at this point. This only goes to show that fans are sick and tired of Bollywood movies that work on the typical masala film formula. There is a need for authentic storylines that showcases filmmakers’ dedication and actors’ hard-work.
