Big Dent To Rajini’s Vettaiyan In Hindi

Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan The Hunter (Hindi) is facing a significant setback as it will not be released in major national chains across North India, a trend that has become common for many Tamil films.

The reason for this exclusion is the stringent policy of the multiplex chains requiring an 8-week gap between a film’s theatrical release and its OTT premiere. This rule is meant to give films enough time to do well in theaters before they go digital.

In contrast, the Kannada film Martin is being released in all cinema chains.

NTR’s recent film Devara did nearly 40% of its business in these national chains. This shows how important these theaters are for making money in the Hindi-speaking market.

Vettaiyan features Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in an important role, yet the film is not being released in national multiplexes, which could lead to significant losses for the film in Hindi markets.
