BGMI Now Available to Download on Android Mobile via Google Play Store, Servers Yet to Go Live

Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) was confirmed to relaunch in India last week. Krafton confirmed that its popular battle royale is getting unbanned in India after nearly a year. BGMI is set to return with a few terms and conditions set by the government. Following the unban, Indian government authorities will keep an eye for three months to see whether the developers ensure compliance with the law of the land. Within a few days of the announcement of the return, it looks like BGMI is now available for download on the Google Play Store.

Some users are able to see the listing of BGMI on Google Play Store. However, the servers are yet to go live in India. It looks like the older version of the game has been listed on the Play Store as Krafton gears up to update the app with the latest features that comply with the local regulations.

BGMI is likely to be available for download this week. Krafton has confirmed the relaunch but did not reveal any details about the download or availability. It looks like the developers are working on whitelisting the app on the Play Store, and that the older version might have accidentally gone live before its official release.

Select users are able to see the listing on the Google Play Store. However, the link does not seem to be working for all. Even those who are able to download and install BGMI on their Android smartphones are unable to play the game as the servers are yet to go live. Therefore, in case you are not able to download BGMI on your Android smartphone, do not worry as you are unlikely to be missing out on any action.

The developers are likely going to make the game available on Google Play Store as it is relatively easier to get an app on the Android app store compared to iOS. Apple has a more stringent process as it reviews each app to ensure that it follows the privacy and security guidelines required to be listed on the App Store.

Krafton is expected to announce the official details about the relaunch soon. At the time of writing this, the developers have not confirmed the official release date of BGMI. At the time of the announcement last week, it was noticed that BGMI servers are being upgraded and players accessing the game were getting a prompt about the same. “Hello BGMI Fan! BGMI servers will be unavailable for a while to come up with a better and bigger experience. While we are working to give you a seamless experience, your account will be safe, and your progress till now will be retained. We will keep you informed of further developments and the release date through our social media platforms,” the prompt read.

Krafton is said to make some in-game changes before making the app official available in India. The battle royale is said to introduce a new in-game timer for players to be mindful about their gaming sessions and health. The game is also said to change the colour of blood by default from red to either green or blue. More details about the same should be available soon.
