In the midst of the feud between ADOR and HYBE, one huge aspect was allegations from CEO Min Hee Jin that BELIFT LAB‘s ILLIT had plagiarized NewJeans. Yet, in a video, BELIFT has hit back with its own claims, alleging that the ADOR group plagiarized NMIXX.
On June 10, BELIFT Lab shocked netizens with a video addressing the plagiarism claims Min Hee Jin had made about ILLIT.
During the video, BELIFT tried to turn the tide and showed off examples of NewJeans “Plagiarizing” choreography, including Western artists and choreographers.
In particular, the company used a K-Pop comparison, sharing the similarities in the choreography between NMIXX’s “Love Me Like This” and NewJeans’ “Ditto.”
Yet, while the claim was made by BELIFT in the video, netizens quickly hit back at the accusations. In particular, they pointed out that NewJeans’ video for “Ditto” was posted on January 1, 2023…
While the NMIXX video was posted on March 23, 2023.
However, the OP of the post made sure to reiterate that they didn’t believe NMIXX was copying NewJeans, adding, “I’m not saying that NMIXX copied NewJeans, but it’s mentioned that with a single momentary capture of an action [dance move], it can look like NewJeans copied NMIXX.”
Even international fans hit back at the allegations.
in defense of overlapping choreo, belift lab is saying that newjean’s ditto choreo resembles nmixx’s love me like this choreo. yet ditto was released before love me like this…?
