Shahid Kapoor’s collaboration with producer and director Atlee has generated a lot of buzz in Bollywood, but the question remains: is this a strategic move or just another attempt to cash in on Kapoor’s current popularity?
According to reports, Shahid is in advanced discussions for a “Masaledaar” action entertainer, which Atlee has developed alongside his associates. This could present Shahid in a larger-than-life role, akin to his recent successes but does also raise concerns over originality in an industry beset by remakes and formulaic storytelling.

Atlee’s earlier film, the blockbuster “Jawan,” had set the bar so high that even his latest film, “Baby John,” which flopped spectacularly at the box office, does not seem to have done justice to the budget of ₹160 crores and a meager ₹53 crores in earnings.
Critics are already wary; they fear that Shahid could be another “bakra” in a series of projects that rely on star power rather than innovative storytelling.
