NEW DELHI: At least 14 officers of Hindustan Copper Limited are feared to be trapped in a mine shaft that collapsed on Tuesday night in Rajasthan‘s Neem ka Thana district, police said.
The vertical shaft used for transportation of personnel collapsed when the vigilance team along with senior officials of the public sector unit were coming back after conducting an inspection of the site.According to the police, the rope of the lift broke, trapping the officers in the mine.
The police reported that efforts are on to rescue the personnel who are trapped at a depth of several hundred metres in the Kolihan mine.
