FIR Against Sameer Wankhede In Aryan Khan Drugs Case

New Delhi: The Aryan Khan drugs bust case has taken a fresh turn with the Central Bureau of Investigation ( CBI ) filing an FIR against former former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore bribe for not framing Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan ‘s son in the case. The fresh twist has also sparked a political slugfest with Trinamool national spokesperson Saket Gokhale claiming that the CBI has been brought in by the BJP government and “the pawns will be arrested while the masters will go scot free”.

He tweeted, “The case against Sameer Wankhede by CBI for extortion is just the tip of the iceberg. The real question is how high up the food chain were the 25 crores supposed to go? Now that CBI has been brought in by BJP govt, the pawns will be arrested while the masters will go scot free.”

However, Wankhede has denied all allegations. Speaking on the allegations, Sameer Wankhede alleged that he was being punished for being a patriot. Raids were also conducted at his residence and other premises.

“I am getting rewarded for being a patriot, yesterday 18 CBI officials raided my residence and searched it for more than 12 hours while my wife and children were present in the house. They found Rs 23,000 and four property papers. These assets were acquired before I joined the service,” Wankhede said on Saturday.

Sameer Wankhede further claimed that CBI officials took the phone of his wife Kranti Redkar in their possession. Apart from that, CBI recovered Rs 28,000 from his sister Yasmin Wankhede’s house and Rs 28,000 from his father Dnyaneshwar Wankhede’s house. Rs 1800 were also recovered from the residence of Wankhede’s father-in-law.

As per the CBI FIR, KP Gosavi , an independent witness, whose photo with Aryan Khan went viral after Aryan was arrested, was given a freehand and Gosavi planned to extort Rs 25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan. After negotiation, the amount was brought down to Rs 18 crore and Rs 50 lakh was collected. Aryan Khan and others who were arrested on October 2, 2021, were brought to the NCB office in Gosavi’s private vehicle. Gosavi got the opportunity to threaten Shah Rukh Khan because he came across as an NCB officer.

Sameer Wankhede has also been accused of making undisclosed foreign visits, transaction over expensive foreign watches.

What CBI FIR Says

  • The FIR said that two independent witnesses in the Aryan Khan drugs case had planned to extort Rs 25 crore from Khan.
  • The two independent witnesses named in the CBI FIR were Kiran Gosavi and Prabhakar Sail.
  • The CBI questioned the presence of independent witness KP Gosavi around accused persons.
  • It said it “was created intentionally in such a manner so as to give an impression that Gosavi was an NCB personnel”.

  • “There was an attempt to extort a sum of Rs 25 crore from the family members of the alleged ‘accused’ Aryan Khan by threatening them of the accusation of offences of possession of Narcotics substances. This amount was finally settled for Rs 18 crore. A token amount of Rs 50 lakhs as bribe money was also taken by KP Gosavi and his aide Sanville D’Souza but later a part of this amount of Rs 50 lakhs bribe money was returned back by them,” the FIR says.
