Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal announced that he would resign from his position as Chief Minister within two days unless he is acquitted in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case.
Speaking at a meeting of AAP members today, Kejriwal accused the BJP of trying to break his party by sending him to jail and trying to take power in Delhi.

He stated that he would go for elections again and appeal to people to vote for him. “If they believe that I am innocent, I will elect me once again,” he said.
Kejriwal further alleged that the BJP sought to break not only his party but also his spirit and morale, but it failed. He claimed the BJP’s strategy is to destroy opposition parties by breaking their MLAs and forming governments where the opposition is in power.

He commented that, despite facing false accusations, the BJP could neither break his party nor take his MLAs or leaders away from him.
Kejriwal noted that he had not resigned earlier because he felt a responsibility to protect the country’s democracy. He urged other opposition party chief ministers not to resign if the BJP files false charges against them or sends them to jail.
