Samsung’s reign as the world’s leading phone brand may be coming to an end.
Apple is poised to become the world’s largest smartphone brand in 2023, surpassing Samsung for the first time, according to a new report from a well-known Apple analyst.
Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a track record of accurate predictions about Apple products, wrote on Medium that Apple is expected to ship between 220-225 million iPhone units in 2023, while Samsung’s shipments have been reduced to 220 million units due to the global chip shortage.
Kuo also projected that Apple will maintain its lead in 2024, with a target of 250 million iPhone units shipped, while Samsung’s outlook remains conservative.
