The government of Andhra Pradesh is looking forward to bringing a new excise policy to the state. As part of it, plans are being made to significantly reduce liquor prices.

According to reports, the government plans to sell a quarter (180 ml) of noted brands for just Rs.80-Rs.90. Even though the price is reduced, there will not be any decrease in the quality of the liquor. Under the previous government, the prices of a quarter bottle were around Rs. 200.

During the previous government’s rule, unable to afford liquor, youth resorted to drugs and other addictive substances.

As per reports, drug consumption in the state increased significantly due to the policies made by the previous government.

The current government is planning to introduce the new liquor policy by October, and steps are being taken to implement it as planned.

A team of officials has been touring various states to study the liquor policies in each state. They have already visited six states and prepared a report. The report will be submitted to the government in a day or two.

The excise department is also holding talks with liquor brands regarding the purchase of liquor. The government is planning to bring all known brands to the state by the end of this month or next month.
