AP Government Suspended Former CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar

Former CID chief and IPS officer Sunil Kumar has been suspended.

The AP government has issued orders suspending him.

Sunil Kumar is facing charges in a case of going abroad without prior permission and the custodial torture of Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju.

Sunil Kumar is accused of violating the All India Service Rules by going abroad several times between 2020 and 2024 without government permission.

The government had earlier constituted an inquiry committee headed by Special Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department RP Sisodia.

In this context, orders were issued today suspending Sunil Kumar.

Sunil Kumar is a Pro-YSR Congress official who troubled TDP leaders in the last five years with fake cases.

He is also conducting meetings and talking against the TDP government in recent times.

In a recent meeting of the SCs, PV Sunil called upon the community to fight against the government and lay siege to the Assembly.

He also makes controversial comments on social media against the government which is also against the service rules.
