Flood Victims Compensated

Andhra Pradesh was hit by incessant rains last month, resulting in a flood-like situation in many areas. Vijayawada was one of the areas worst affected by the floods, with heavy rains leaving many people without homes and food.

The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, worked around the clock for more than 10 days to restore normalcy in the flood-hit areas.

Naidu himself made on-ground visits to the flood-hit regions, spoke to the victims, and assured them of immediate assistance. Food was supplied to the victims for many days in the areas affected by floods.

Many people, including film celebrities, businessmen, and common people, came forward to support the government in providing compensation for flood victims by donating to the AP CM Relief Fund.

According to the official update, 98% of flood victims have been compensated as of now. Of the Rs. 602 crores allocated, only Rs. 18 crores remain.

Financial assistance couldn’t be provided to the remaining 2% of the people due to technical issues, but the money will be transferred to them by tomorrow (Monday).

The government has given district collectors the responsibility of distributing funds to those who didn’t receive them, possibly due to issues with AADHAR linkage or other reasons.

Money will be deposited into the accounts of 15,000 families in the NTR district and 4,620 families in the Alluri Seetharamaraju district through the district officials.
