Buta Kola, or Bhoota Kola, is an annual celebration held in the coastal districts of southern Karnataka. Bhoota artists can be found in the Mangalore and Udipi area of Tulu Nadu.
The pan-Indiance audience was exposed to this tradition and celebration through the recent blockbuster Kannada film, Kantara.
However, the Kannadigs regularly attend these ritualistic celebrations. Anushka Shetty, who is originally from the same area, was recently spotted attending a Bhoota Kola ceremony.
She went there with her family, including her parents. She was spotted taking pictures of the bhoota kola show on her phone.
Anushka’s attendance at the ritualistic festival was captured on video, and the clip quickly went viral online.
Anushka mingled with people like a commoner.
