After the humongous success of Stree 2, Bollywood is gearing up for another female-led film Jigra starring one of the biggest female superstars Alia Bhatt.
The teaser for Jigra, which was released today, reveals a tale of love, loss, and fierce sibling loyalty. Alia plays a determined sister on a mission to save her brother, played by Vedang Raina, who is imprisoned in a foreign land.

The emotionally charged teaser opens with Alia narrating her tragic backstory, including the loss of her parents and the challenges she faced.
As the teaser progresses, Alia’s character undergoes intense action-packed sequences, fighting her way to rescue her brother.

The sibling bond is brought to life by a reimagined version of Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka, adding emotional depth to the trailer.
Manoj Pahwa plays a mentor-like figure, advising Alia’s character not to try to be a hero, to which she defiantly replies, “Ab toh Bachchan hi banna hai.”

Directed by Vasan Bala, known for his quirky and intense storytelling in films like Monica Oh My Darling and Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota, Jigra promises a blend of raw emotions, action, and familial love.
The film, co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, is set to release on October 11, 2024.
The release was pushed from September 27 to avoid a clash with Jr NTR’s Devara Part 1, ensuring both films get their due attention.
Alia Bhatt’s script sense is mostly terrific and she rarely does a bad film. We have to see if Bollywood scores another blockbuster with Jigra after Stree 2.
