A major controversy has erupted in Andhra Pradesh after Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made shocking allegations that animal fat was used in making the sacred Tirupati laddoos during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government.
While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party dismissed the claim as baseless, lab reports appear to support Chandrababu Naidu’s claim.

According to a report by NDDB CALF, a private lab specializing in animal feed and milk testing, the ghee used in the laddoos contained foreign fats, including palm oil, fish oil, beef tallow, and lard (pig fat).
TDP spokesperson Anam Venkata Ramana Reddy showcased the lab report during a press conference, pointing out that the sample was collected on July 9, 2024, and the lab findings were dated July 16.

He stated, “The lab reports certify that beef tallow, animal fat – lard, and fish oil were used in the ghee for the Tirumala laddoos.”
The revelation has sparked a political storm and raised questions about the integrity of the temple’s offerings, stirring strong reactions from religious and political groups alike.
