Angel Reese is capitalizing on the success of her WNBA rookie year and newfound fame as she plans to offer fans a new ‘unfiltered’ side of herself.
The Chicago Sky rookie has often found herself a hot topic over the past year but now she’ll be driving the conversations with her own weekly podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel.’
‘It’s another way for me to connect with my fans and reach new audiences I wouldn’t necessarily have before,’ Reese told Complex.
‘I can’t wait to share a different side with listeners and have them come on this ride with me.’
The show is set to make its debut on September 5 and will be widely available on podcast platforms and YouTube.
Angel Reese is set to launch her own weekly podcast, called ‘Unapologetically Angel’
Reese is keeping her show within the LSU Tigers family, joining mentor and former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal’s ‘The Big Podcast Network’, a part of Playmaker HQ.
Playmaker HQ already boats a slate of sports shows, including The Roommates Show with Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart and The OGs with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller.
Reese will be joined by co-host Maya Reese but has high aspirations for blockbuster guests to headline her episodes.
‘I really want to have guests across all different industries on the show– sports, music, entertainment, business, creators, and more,’ the rookie said.
‘But you know I’m definitely going to have to get my girls Meg (thee Stallion), Latto and Cardi B on here.’
Reese’s announcement comes amid a podcasting boom within the sports world with a host of athletes capitalizing on fans’ hunger for more.
Travis and Jason Kelce reportedly inked a new $100million deal with Amazon to produce their hugely successful New Heights podcast.
Amazon-owned Wondery has exclusive ad-sale and distribution rights to the podcast, which surged in popularity last season after it emerged Kansas City Chiefs star Travis was dating Taylor Swift.

Reese has enjoyed an incredible year, wrapping up her college career at LSU, where she won a national championship, and being drafted by the Chicago Sky with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
The 22-year-old has bagged multiple sponsorship deals as she’s wowed on the court and sent records tumbling.
Nearing the end of her first season in the WNBA, Reese is averaging 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds for the Sky.
She put up 11 points and 22 rebounds in Chicago’s game against the Las Vegas Aces Sunday to tie Tina Charles’ record for the most double-doubles in a season by a rookie in WNBA history.
Reese officially launched her first shoe and apparel collection with Reebok last week
Meanwhile, last week she announced a new partnership with iconic candy brand, Reese’s peanut butter cups.
She also launched a collection with her shoe sponsor, Reebok – making her the first rookie from this year’s class to launch a product with an athletic brand.
The collection includes three pairs of shoes – including a friends and family exclusive pair – as well as plenty of apparel items.
Products in the collection have been made available for purchase as of the date of the launch on Friday.
