The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has finally been set free from the control of Vijayasai Reddy’s family. After the YSR Congress Party came to power in 2019, Vijayasai Reddy’s family members and associates took control of the ACA.

With the YCP now dethroned, those apex council members have resigned. Their resignations were approved in the ACA’s all-member meeting.
The all-member meeting was held yesterday at a hotel in Vijayawada. The resignations of ACA president P. Sharath Chandra Reddy, Vice-President P. Rohit Reddy, Executive SR Gopinath Reddy, and a few others were approved at the meeting.

A new management body for the ACA will be elected on September 8. A three-member committee has been assigned to manage the ACA until the election of the new organizing body.
RVSK Rangarao (Vizianagaram), Mancho Ferrer (Anantapur), and J. Muralimohan (Guntur) have been appointed as members of the three-member committee.

Vishakapatnam North MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni attended the meeting. They informed the media that after the elections, the new management would address the existing problems faced by players and focus on the development of stadiums.
Meanwhile, Kesineni Nani is set to contest in the upcoming ACA elections. Various district cricket associations and clubs have also supported his candidacy.
For the last five years, Vijayasai Reddy has appointed his relatives and associates to the ACA board. His son-in-law’s brother and Aurobindo’s Director, Sharath Chandra Reddy, served as the president of the ACA for the last two terms and was also accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam case.
