JE Technology Desk: WhatsApp regularly grab headlines for testing new features and refining the existing ones in its platform. In that update saga, the Meta-owned company is rolling out a new interface in group settings and the “Add Other Participants” option in the latest stable update for iOS, according to WABetaInfo.
The new WhatsApp for iOS build marked ‘23.11.78’ supports the above-stated enhancements. This WhatsApp version was released on App Store a few days back. The new option will allow admins to better manage groups on the instant messaging app. Despite Apple not mentioning these features in the official changelog, WABetaInfo claims the feature is rolling out.
Users on the stable build can experiment with the updated group interface which is rolling out on iOS devices, including iPhones.
Besides this, a new option, “Add other participants,” empowers the group admins to choose who can add new members to groups. As can be interpreted from the screenshot, once the toggle is turned on, the feature will allow existing members to add participants in groups. However, the functionality will not be available if the group admin turns off the new setting.
While many WhatsApp accounts on iOS have received the feature, some users will receive the update in the coming weeks. Moreover, the functionality is also rolling out in the beta version. A user can update their app from the official App Store of the company to install the new build.
