Akshay Kumar has been going through a lean period in the Bollywood industry, as more than 10 of his films have flopped over the last few years. Some such flops include “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” which supposedly resulted in producer losses of some 200 crores, and “Sky Force,” which could not survive on the back of corporate bookings and self-bookings.
Yet, the re-release of his hit film of 2007 “Namastey London” on March 14, 2025, comes as a bright spot. Akshay and Katrina Kaif’s on-screen jodi is a big attraction. They have collaborated in six films, and their chemistry on screen is a delight for the audience.

The cross-cultural love story of the film is a reminder of the interesting tale of Jasmeet and Arjun. This element of nostalgia may attract people to the cinemas, particularly over the festive Holi weekend.
“Namastey London” has a blend of romance, drama, and comedy with standout performances by Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, and Rishi Kapoor. The music by Himesh Reshammiya, including chartbusters such as “Dilruba” and “Main Jahan Rahoon,” continues to be popular even today.

Also, the re-release timing is coinciding with the celebration of Holi, which may give the box office figures a boost as people look for entertainment after celebrating.
