Akshay Kumar’s Kesari Chapter 2 is releasing in theatres on April 18, 2025. Based on the life of C. Sankaran Nair on the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.
The teaser and trailer have already left a positive impact on the audience. However, there hasn’t been enough buzz as per expectations, and it seems like the film might have to go through a tough phase to take an opening of somewhere between Rs. 5-6 crores.

Moreover, right-wing handles on social media have been reportedly praising the film and attacking the Congress government at the same time.
Apart from that, Akshay’s fans are waiting for a miracle in the form of controversy considering the main subject, leading to some boycott calls, which might help the film to become a big hit. Notably, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan was also involved in some trouble due to Besharam Rang, leading to its success.

For now, the makers have taken a new initiative in the form of Fan-First Screenings in five cities of India, where people would get the opportunity to watch the film before its release on the big screen. The screenings are scheduled on April 16, with the registrations opening on April 14.
Despite all these steps, the fate of Kesari Chapter 2 at the box office does not look so good. Although the film won’t face any big competition, the audience’s lack of interest has already started giving bad signs.
