There is no debating the fact that Rajamouli is the biggest commercial filmmaking brand in Indian cinema and his vision is beyond anyone’s reach. No other Indian filmmakers blends as much CG and visual effects into their films.
Recently, Nag Ashwin tried his hand at this with Kalki and the film passed off as a class film, unlike Rajamouli degree mass films. The difference is Rajamouli blends CGI with emotional narrative which wasn’t necessarily the case with Kalki.

Coming to Devara now, Koratala Siva appears to be trying his hand at the same with this NTR starrer.
In the interviews featuring NTR, Siva, and others, it is clearly mentioned that a lot of CGI work is associated with the film. Siva and NTR revealed that several water action blocks in the film have CGI shots and extensive image enhancement apart from live visuals.

This should have been a new experience for Koratala to work with so much CGI work, including the hyped shark fight sequence and it is a challenge in itself.
Blending CGI with an emotional drive, like in the case of the tiger fight in RRR is a tough task. Though Koratala is a seasoned filmmaker, his work for Devara with the CGI will be watched with close scrutiny and we have to see if can tick the right boxes. Else, there is a chance this CG stuff could come under sever scrutiny on social media.
