Arshad Warsi, known for his standout performances in films like the Munnabhai series, Jolly LLB, and the Golmaal franchise, recently shared some candid thoughts on a podcast.
When asked about the last film he watched, Arshad Warsi didn’t hold back. He revealed that he had seen ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and wasn’t impressed.

“I watched Kalki 2898 AD, and I didn’t like it at all. Prabhas, I’m sad to say this, but you looked like a joker. I was expecting something along the lines of Mad Max, but what was that?” he remarked bluntly.
This didn’t sit well with Tollywood fans, especially those loyal to Prabhas. They hit back at Arshad Warsi on social media, calling him out for his criticism, reminding him that he had played comic roles for most of his career, and accusing him of being the real “joker,” not Prabhas.

Interestingly, Prabhas himself acknowledged at the 2023 Comic Con event that his role in the film was that of a comedian, showing that he was aware of the tone of his character.
Kalki 2898 AD may have pulled in 1000 crores according to its producers, but the film’s true potential felt underwhelmed. The first half dragged, making it a tiresome watch, and even though the second half had its moments, it was largely underwhelming. Only the climax stood out, providing some relief in an otherwise lackluster narrative.
