Acharya Movie Paadaghattam Must Not Be Repeated

Devara: Paadaghattam Must Not Be Repeated

The theatrical trailer for NTR’s Devara dropped the other day and the initial reaction has been a rather mixed bag. While a section liked the trailer instantly, others felt it lacks the impetus of a big scale film.

Coming to the topic, the discussion now is about the Paadaghattam reference in Devara.

For those who don’t know about Paadaghattam, it is a fictional name of a place that Koratala designed for Acharya. In this film, there are some 30-40+ references to this place which was a heavy overkill. After the film bombed, this Paadaghattam name became troll stuff.

Now, in the trailer of Devara, there appear to be a bit too many references to “Bhayam” and “Dhairyam” which were already established in the earlier released Fear Song and the teaser.

In the case of Acharya, the Paadaghattam term was overused and later became troll stuff. And now, in the case of Devara, the “Bhayam” and “Dhairyam” terminology is on the foreground. There are a bit too many references to these words.

In the trailer itself, there are some 10 occasions where we he hear these words from NTR and other surrounding character. If the film also has an overkill of this terminology, it doesn’t look good as this terminology will turn repetitive and monotonous after a point.

Koratala is a calculated filmmaker and he must’ve surely taken a lesson or two from Acharya. So we can nearly guarantee that he wouldn’t have overdone the terminology game this time around.
