The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Rajahmundry Range, on Thursday conducted raids on the properties of Kakinada District Registrar K. Ananda Rao. The accused officer was trapped by the ACB while allegedly accepting ₹1 lakh bribe on March 28.
Investigation officers booked a Disproportionate Assets case against Mr. Rao, and the police carried out searches on the properties of his family members. Mr. Rao was appointed as stenographer in 1995, and was promoted as sub-registrar and then as district registrar. He was arrested and will be produced before the Rajahmundry ACB Court, the officials said in a release.
