Innovation, research-oriented teaching with emphasis on live projects, and focus on inclusivity are few of the reasons that helped Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) College secure a place among top 10 colleges — at rank 6 — in NIRF ranking for the second year in a row, according to the principal and faculty.

“We stood 5th under NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) in 2017… Everyone was surprised as to how a college as unpopular as ours managed to get a good rank,” said Principal Gyantosh Jha, adding, the college has always “focussed on innovation and research-oriented teaching”. He said that despite the absence of facilities like a hostel on campus or a rich history unlike some other DU colleges, ARSD’s effort to improve quality of research and innovation has helped the institute.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has started a door-to-door survey in Delhi where it plans to inform people about the central government ordinance that effectively overturned a Supreme Court order giving the Delhi government power in the services department. On Tuesday, the party will conduct its door-to-door survey at 11 am at Raj Niwas Marg near St Xavier’s School. AAP state convener Gopal Rai will also take part.

AAP is also planning a ‘maha rally’ on June 11 at Ramlila Maidan, where the Anna Hazare movement that led to the formation of the party began. Rai has appealed to the public to join the rally in large numbers.
