Reliance will grow bigger and bigger like a banyan tree: Mukesh Ambani

Reliance Industries will grow bigger and bigger like the proverbial banyan tree, Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said today.

He was speaking on the occasion of his 20 years at the helm of Reliance Industries. Mukesh Ambani took over the reins of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) after the sudden demise of his legendary industrialist father Dhirubhai Ambani on July 6, 2002.

“Years will roll by and decades will pass, Reliance will continue to grow bigger and bigger like the proverbial banyan tree. Its branches will spread wider, its roots will go deeper, and it will touch the lives of the ever increasing number of Indians, enriching them, empowering them, nourishing them, and caring for them,” Ambani said in a webcast.

“Our mission is to make India prosperous by building world-class and world-scale businesses,” he added.

“We are living through a time when the world is beginning to see the 21st century as India’s century…the next 25 years are going to be the most transformative in the 5000 year history of India…We can become a $40 trillion economy by 2047,” Mukesh Ambani added.

“The end of 2022 is when Reliance will have crossed the half-way mark of its golden decade. In five years from now, Reliance will complete its fifty years…the journey ahead is going to be far more exciting, more rewarding, and also challenging,” Ambani added.
