Yamaha Aerox 155-based Augur launched in Taiwan

    – Features a radical design

    – Gets the same engine as the Aerox 155

    – Equipped with traction control and cornering assist

Yamaha recently expanded its Taiwanese portfolio by launching the Augur 155 performance scooter in the country. While it shares some of its hardware with the Aerox 155, there are a host of elements unique to the Augur.

The most standout aspect of the Augur is its radical styling which looks inspired by a spaceship from a sci-fi movie. The pointed front end boasts a split-type apron housing a round projector headlamp flanked by DRL stripes on both sides. The robotic-looking fascia gets sharp side panels which blend neatly with the upswept tail section. The Augur comes equipped with a flat single-piece seat and gets a decently spacious footboard.

The list of features in the Augur is as fancy as its styling. Similar to big bikes, it offers traction control, cornering assist, and an adaptive colour headlight. Further, Yamaha has also incorporated a 4.3-inch digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, a keyless control system, and ABS. As for the hardware, it rides on 13-inch alloy wheels with telescopic forks and dual springs. The engine, meanwhile, is the same 155cc, liquid-cooled unit with VVA (variable valve actuation) which does duty on the Aerox 155.

As of now, there are no reports of Yamaha Augur’s India arrival. However, those who want a premium sport scooter in India can choose the Aerox 155 which is quite an enticing package.
