India at Asian Games Day 13 Live Updates (October 6): The medal count improved nice and early in the morning for India as the recurve women’s team clinched bronze in archery. Later, the men’s recurve team beat Mongolia and Bangladesh to reach the final, where defeat to Korea left them with a silver medal. HS Prannoy finished with bronze after losing to home favourite Li Shifeng in the semifinal, winning India’s first men’s singles individual Asiad medal in badminton since 1982. The Indian women’s regu team in Sepaktakraw also won bronze.

In badminton, while Prannoy lost to All England champion Shifeng, later in the day, Satwik-Chirag will take on former world champs Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik. Like Prannoy, the in-form Indian duo also assured India of a first men’s doubles Asiad medal since 1982.
