Srinagar:
An Army Major opened fire on his fellow soldiers at an Army camp in J&K’s Rajouri district on Thursday, injuring at least four personnel, sources have told NDTV.
The firing took place at a camp of the 48 Rashtriya Rifles in the Thanamandi area. The battalion has been carrying out anti-terrorist operations in the region.
The reason for the Major opening fire is not known yet. “Efforts are on to control the situation, and senior Army officers have rushed to the site,” said a source.
The Army has not issued a statement so far.
