    Pak social media in frenzy after Dutch institute predicts powerful earthquake: Here is what happened | International


    On a day that saw a strong earthquake in Nepal and parts of Northern India, there was a strong rumour in Pakistan about a powerful quake hitting the country. A Dutch research organisation called the Solar System Geometry Survey put out a tweet about quake hitting Pakistan in next few days, along the Chaman fault line in Balochistan. The claim was retweeted by Frank Hoogerbeets who has previously made accurate predictions, and this led to a frenzied reaction on Pak social media. However, scientists agree that earthquakes can’t be predicted before they strike.
