Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is actually the first product that is jointly developed with Toyota from scratch. A version of the Grand Vitara is sold in the market under the Toyota badge as the Hyryder. The Grand Vitara is currently the flagship SUV from Maruti Suzuki that is sold via Nexa. The Grand Vitara is a premium SUV that competes with cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun in the segment. Maruti mentions that while the Grand Vitara has seamlessly catered to a diverse customer base, Intelligent Electric Hybrid and Suzuki ALLGRIP SELECT variants truly stand apart for their excellent performance.
As this is a premium offering, the Grand Vitara comes with features like a Head-Up Display, a 360-degree camera, a floating-type infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated seats, and so on. The higher variant even offers a panoramic sunroof. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available with two engine options. The diesel engine has been completely removed from all the models. The Grand Vitara gets a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with mild hybrid technology and a 1.5-liter engine with strong hybrid technology.
The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine is the same as what is seen in many other Maruti models like the XL6 and Brezza. This engine comes with a 6-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission option. It even gets paddle shifters. This engine generates 103 Bhp and 138 Nm of peak torque. The other engine option is a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder engine that works with an electric motor for better efficiency. The petrol engine generates 92 Bhp, and the electric motor generates 79 Bhp. This system generates a combined power of 115 Ps, and it has a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl. The price for a Grand Vitara starts at Rs 10.70 lakh, ex-showroom, and goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
