Vijay Antony, the music composer and Tamil film actor, suffered a tragic loss as his 16-year-old daughter, Meera, took her own life at their Chennai residence early on Tuesday. Meera was found hanging from her bedroom ceiling around 3 am. A student in Class XII at a private school, the motive for her extreme step remains unknown, with the police investigating the presence of a suicide note. Preliminary findings suggest she was struggling with depression. Meera was the elder daughter of the music composer.
