Ganeshotsav 2023: First look of Lalbaugcha Raja unveiled in Mumbai

Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal has revealed this year’s idol on September 15, depicting it on a throne reminiscent of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s era. The unveiling featured traditional folk dances and songs. The mandal plans to uphold traditional celebrations during the Ganeshotsav festival. Lalbaugcha Raja is renowned as one of Mumbai’s most visited pandals during this season, attracting lakhs of devotees each year. The 2023 theme honours Raigad Fort and signifies the final decor design by acclaimed art director Nitin Desai, who has been involved since 2008. Organizers pay tribute to the late Nitin Desai, while the festival commences on September 19. Additionally, vehicles travelling to the Konkan region for the Ganpati festival will enjoy toll exemptions on highways from September 16 to October 1, as announced by the Maharashtra government.
