Hyundai recorded 53,830 units in the month of August 2023 as against 49,510 units with a YoY positive sales growth of 9 per cent
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) posted a domestic tally of 53,830 units in the month of August 2023 as against 49,510 units during the same period last year with a YoY positive sales increase of 9 per cent. Compared to the previous month of July 2023 with 50,701 units, a MoM volume jump of 6 per cent was noted.
The South Korean auto major garnered a market share of 14.9 per cent as against 15.1 per cent with a YoY decline of 0.2 per cent. Hyundai sat second in the overall manufacturers’ sales charts behind Maruti Suzuki and ahead of Tata, Mahindra, Toyota and Kia. The Hyundai Creta finished on top of the sales table with a total of 13,832 units.
In comparison to the corresponding period twelve months ago with 12,577 units, a YoY volume growth of 10 per cent was recorded. The facelifted version of the Hyundai Creta will hit the market early next year with a host of revisions inside and out and it will be powered by a new 1.5L turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS and 253 Nm.

The Hyundai Venue finished in the second position with a total of 10,948 units as against 11,240 units in August 2022 with a YoY decline of 3 per cent. The Hyundai Exter micro SUV posted a domestic tally of 7,430 units while the Grand i10 Nios was the fourth most sold Hyundai in India with 7,306 units against 9,274 units with a YoY drop of 21 per cent.
The Hyundai i20 finished in the fifth position with 4,896 units against 7,558 units with a YoY drop of 35 per cent. The Aura compact sedan slotted in at sixth with 4,892 units against 4,378 units with a YoY growth of 12 per cent. The Verna midsize sedan finished in the seventh position with 2,576 units against 1,734 units.
This led to a YoY sales increase of 49 per cent while the Alcazar came in at eighth ahead of Tucson, Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric.
