Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ is off to a flying start at the box office. The film has minted a whopping Rs 75 crore in India. At the worldwide box office, the film collected more than Rs 150 crore. Aaliyah Qureishi is one of the actresses in ‘Jawan’. The singer-songwriter is one of the six girls in SRK’s core team in the film.
The others are Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girja Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya and Lehar Khan. Aaliyah Qureshi, who goes by the name Moniker Jhalli, got into an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in where she shared an interesting anecdote from the sets of ‘Jawan’.
‘ABRAM HAS A LITTLE STUDIO AT HOME’
Talking about her most memorable and unforgettable moments from the filming of ‘Jawan’, Aaliyah Qureishi told IndiaToday.in, “During the first schedule, his manager Pooja mentioned to him that I was a musician. So he said, ‘Oh you know, AbRam also has a little home studio. He’s also really into music. Tomorrow after dinner, we’ll jam.’ I thought he had said it just like that because it’s a big set and you forget, you get busy. But he remembered and he actually got two guitars, a mic stand, a mic, a speaker, he got a whole home set up. I played him some of my original music and it was just really nice.”
‘SRK USED TO SHARE BADAMS WITH ME’
Aaliyah also said, “I used to share my badams with him. That’s a really funny one. During the first few schedules, we used to be on set for really long hours and I’m someone who gets hungry very quickly. So I used to have this ziploc bag full of badams. One day when I was eating my badams from my pocket Shah Rukh Khan sir was right there. He just looked at me and asked, “Kya kha rahi hai?” I told him, “Badams sir, you want?” I didn’t think he would actually take it but he took some of my badams. It became our favorite set snack. Even otherwise, if any of us said we were hungry, he would call his guy and get a table full of makhanas, chips and popcorn. He was so kind and receptive to any discomfort or any request that anyone might have had.”
ABOUT ‘JAWAN’
‘Jawan’ released worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Directed by Atlee, it stars Shah Rukh Khan along with Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani. Deepika Padukone is seen in an extended cameo.
The film is touted to be a commercial entertainer and features SRK in a double role – an intelligence officer and a thief. The film was shot across Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan and Aurangabad. Anirudh Ravichander composed for the film, and made his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood.
